MATTHEW HEARN

Matthew Hearn (APAM, M.Phy, PG. Cert. Human Movement Sc, BSc (Biol), Dry needling

Matthew has completed a Masters in Physiotherapy, where he previously attained a Bachelor of Science (extended Biology Major) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Movement Science with a focus on Anatomy and Physiology.

Matt has a passion for many sports, especially (AFL) Football, Triathlon, Ironman, Cycling, Basketball and CrossFit.

Expertise include Dry needling, injury diagnosis Lower back pain, Disc bulges, Nerve pain, Tendonopathy/Tendonitis, Bursitis, sporting injuries (diagnosis and rehabilitation), Gym programs and Pilates, Biomechanical assessment of running, joint and muscular pain as well as Headaches and Arthritis.

He takes a holistic approach in treating your injury to find the most appropriate way for full recovery of your pain.

WASHINGTON CHAVES

Currently living in Adelaide, South Australia, Washington Chaves is a Remedial Massage Therapist who graduated from The Australian College of Eastern Medicine, working in private practice at the Matthew Hearn Physiotherapy Clinic as such since 2020.

Washington is also associated with the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and with the Australian Natural Therapist Association (ANTA). He has extensive knowledge in human anatomy, human physiology, and manual therapy skills acquired over 14 years in a private clinical practice.
On weekends, Washington enjoys playing football, running on the beach, and spending time with his family.

MILA KAIVALYA 

Mila is our newest Physiotherapist, joining the team in early 2023.

 

Mila Completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy with first class Honours from the University of South Australia.

 

Mila has expertise in lower back pain, neck pain, tendon injuries, sports injuries, sciatica and post-surgical rehabilitation. She is also experienced with return to work, insurance and NDIS clients along with an overall passion for helping everyday people return to their best self!

During her spare time, Mila enjoys hiking, spending time with her dogs at the beach, baking, or spending time outdoors in nature.

When not doing any of the above activities, you may find her doing handstands somewhere around Adelaide.

JESS HODGINS

We welcomed our Receptionist Jess to the team in 2022.

You will be greeted by Jess at the front reception desk in the clinic most weekday afternoons as well as on the phone.

Jess is in her third year of university, studying Exercise and Sport Science at UniSA with the goal to shift into Occupational Therapy afterwards.

Jess loves keeping extremely fit in the gym and spends her spare time down at the beach with friends. Outside of work, Jess also participates in sport, coaching and playing netball for Walkerville Netball Club. 

LIZ HEARN

Co Director & Practice Manager

As Practice Manager Liz's role in the business involves daily financials, social media marketing, stock control and visual merchandising, prospecting new business, bookkeeping, payroll, office management and assisting Matthew and Washington with events and programs the practise is involved in around Adelaide.

Our practice “Matthew Hearn Physiotherapy” has already partnered with Edwardstown Football Club, Marion Tennis Club, Ben Clarke Motorsport and Flinders University Cricket Club.

When Liz is not at the practice she is busy on Mum duties to Korbyn and their most recent daughter, little Miss Peyton, who they welcomed in May 2022!
